Letter from our President

August 2009

Dear Circle Members,

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer. I am honored to serve as President of The Circle for Children for the coming year. It is also an honor to receive the President’s gold bracelet and gavel from my dear friend, Chris Crawford, who served as our leader this past year. Chris demonstrated her leadership and dedication to the Circle and I look forward to her continued guidance and counsel in the coming year.

Last year, the Circle Board selected “The Center for Children and Young Adults (CCYA)” as the beneficiary of our fundraising events. The Board has voted to continue our support of CCYA again this year. As you may know, CCYA operates three programs: Open Gate and Another Chance are emergency shelters and Turning Point is a transitional living program. The children being cared for are victims of abuse and neglect and are rendered homeless by their current situation. You can find more information about CCYA on their website www.umbrellaweb.org.

The Center, located on Austell Road in Marietta, has been very grateful for our support and takes the responsibility of managing our gifts seriously.  They look forward to our participation again this year with the children.  There will be numerous opportunities to support the CCYA programs with your time and financial assistance.  I trust that our new Board as well as all Circle members will find it in their heart to make this year another great fundraising year for such a good cause. In addition to CCYA, the Circle will continue to provide scholarships for graduates of Tallulah Falls School and other qualifying candidates through our fundraising efforts.

This year, The Circle for Children will host two entirely different fundraising events to raise money for the CCYA. On Sunday, October 25, 2009, The Circle will host “The First Annual Atlanta Polo Classic” at Chukkar Farms and Scuppernong Polo Club in Alpharetta. On April 19, 2010, the Circle will host a Luncheon/Fashion Show at the St. Regis in Atlanta.

Finally, I want to personally invite you to join me in making 2009-2010 one of our best Circle years ever. Your efforts will not go unnoticed, I promise.

Sincerely,

Sally Davis
